"Lightness Enlightens" Dr. Joel Goodman, The Humor Project
Teachers, parents, children, healthcare and business professionals-EVERYONE-can lead more productive and happy lives through the positive application of humor. Laughter has been found to ease pain, help problem-solving, motivate, boost team spirit, enhance self-esteem, promote overall health, improve communication and help develop relationships and fellowships with others. Students who learn in a fun and laugh-inspiring classroom retain information 800 times more than in a classroom where information is delivered in a staid manner.
"What soap is to the body, laughter is to the soul." Yiddish Proverb
Pam Palis-Kalisz grew up in a positive, humor-laden environment. She attended the University of Illinois and Illinois State, where she earned her B.S. in Education and Communication. As a secondary education teacher, she created many opportunities to incorporate humor, laughter and play into her classroom. Since 1978, she has used humor and magic to build customer service skills, support program development and enhance training at United Airlines. One of her many roles at United, was participating in the training of 50,000 airline employees while presenting Customer Problem Resolution. Pam has been a Board Member for the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor since 2001. Her workshops are based on years of research, application via her numerous training positions and life experience. All workshops are custom-designed for the participants. Whether her program is geared toward reminiscing and laughter for those in their golden years, teaching and reinforcing customer service skills, helping schools bring kindness and caring into their curriculum or teaching locals in Taipei, Taiwan, to use forgiveness in their workplace, thousands of people have had their amuse systems strengthened in her workshops.
"It's never too late to have a happy childhood." Anonymous
